The Lost Prince is a 23M€ French-Belgian coproduction drama directed by French director Michel Hazanavicius. Every night as Sofia falls asleep, her father Djibi (Omar Sy) takes her into "Storyland", a fantasy film studio where their extraordinary fairy-tale adventures come to life.
This dreamt world was made possible thanks to Beside Productions' management of two talented Belgian studios: Digital District and Dada. Digital District took care of image & sound postproduction (editing, Foley and lab) as well as VFX. Dada was the home of Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Aviator) as he recorded the original score with Belgian musicians. Producer Jonathan Blumenthal also optimized his budget by renting Belgian camera and lightning equipment. Finally, François Damiens' actor fee was also financed with Beside Productions' Tax Shelter financing.
Beyond the financing brought to the table by Beside Productions, the series was also supported by Wallimage.
