Night in Paradise is a German-Belgian 11M€ series directed by Matthias Glasner. It is StarzPlay’s first German Original in German language. With 70% of the 50 Belgian shooting days done at night in some of Brussels’ Gotham-looking neighborhoods, Night in Paradise’s hypersexualised and rebellious aesthetic has been designed by a Belgian Hair/Make-up and Styling team. It conveys the feelings of anxiety and ennui experienced by young generations stuck between synthesized beauty and unrelenting despair.
VFX are done by Belgian studio Benuts with pioneering VR production technology for the taxi scenes.
Under Alain-Gilles Viellevoye's (Head of Productions at Beside Productions) oversight, Night in Paradise successfully convinced Wallimage to get on board of the series. Night in Paradise is yet another example of Germany opening up to European coproductions with Beside Productions instrumental in making it happen.
